Mr. James A. Shipman age 80 of Troy Died Monday, March 4, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow in the Pea River Cemetery near Clio. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He is survived by his grandchildren Alex, Billy, Jessica, Nathan and Honor Shipman, his daughters-in-law Linna Shipman and Kim Shipman Kersey, his sisters Lois Dykes, Sarah Fowler and Caroline (Billy) Belcher, a brother Tommy (Patricia) Shipman, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Shipman served his county in the Navy and Air Force. He was also a member of the Troy Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Shipman, Kenneth Shipman, David Shipman, Steve Shipman, Dan Dykes and Earl Smith. Memorial may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
